On February 18 local time, the US State Department issued a statement saying that US Secretary of State Rubio met with the Russian Foreign Minister in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia earlier in the day, and then talked with the foreign ministers of France, Germany, Italy and the United Kingdom, as well as the European Union High Representative for Foreign Affairs. Rubio briefed the foreign ministers of the meeting, and all parties agreed to continue to maintain close contact and work together to end the Russian-Ukrainian conflict.
