US Treasury secretary Scott Bescent can't stand the Trump administration's "ridiculous [reciprocal] tariff algorithm" and is ready to step down, Stephanie Lueller, MSNBC host, said on Thursday. "My sources say that Bescent is acting differently [in the Trump administration]," Mr. Lueller said on Good Morning Joe. "In terms of Trump's inner circle, Trump is not close to Bescent at all, and he doesn't listen to him." Mr. Lueller said: "I've been told that he's looking for a way out, looking for an opportunity to go to the Federal Reserve. Because over the last few days, he's really damaging his credibility and his record in the market." Bescent himself has not yet responded to the matter.
