Protests were held on April 19 local time in New York, Washington and other cities in the United States. Protest organizers said they were protesting against the Trump administration's violations of civil rights and the Constitution, including deporting large numbers of immigrants, reducing the size of the federal government by firing numerous government workers and effectively closing multiple agencies. In addition, protesters plan to hold an event outside Tesla dealerships to protest the role of Elon Musk and his Department of Government Effectiveness in streamlining federal government entities.
