Venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz (A16z) is in talks to lead a new round of funding for Thinking Machines Lab, an artificial intelligence startup founded by former OpenAI CTO Mira Murati. According to people familiar with the matter, this round of financing may reach $2 billion, and the company is expected to be valued at $10 billion. Sequoia Capital is also discussing participating in this round of financing. Thinking Machines Lab was founded in February 2025 to develop safer and more reliable artificial intelligence systems.
